Privacy, in plain words.
BFF exists to make thoughtful introductions. Your data is the ingredient, never the product. Here is exactly what happens with it.
What we keep. Your phone number, first name, and the basics you share (what you're looking for, city, age range, dealbreakers, your situation with children). Your interview voice notes are transcribed and the audio is then deleted; we keep the text so we can make good introductions for you. If a video coffee is recorded, it only happens when BOTH people say yes, a visible notetaker joins, and the raw recording is deleted right after your private debrief is written; the transcript is kept unless you delete your data. After dates, we keep what you privately tell us about how it went.
What we do with it. One thing: finding and caring for your introductions. We never sell or share your data for advertising. Your surname, socials, and number are never shared with another member until you have both said yes to each other. What you tell us privately after a date is never shown to the other person; it helps us look after you and everyone here, and repeated bad behavior costs access to introductions.
Who touches it. Messages travel over WhatsApp (Twilio). Identity checks are done by our verification partner, who holds your documents; we only ever learn "verified: yes". AI processing runs on contracted providers who do not train on your data. Payment details, when we begin charging, will be held by Stripe, never by us.
How long. Chat messages are kept for 90 days on a rolling basis. Interview audio: deleted after transcription. Call recordings: deleted after your debrief. Everything else: for as long as you are a member.
Your controls, anytime, in the chat. Say "what do you know about me" and BFF shows you. Say "delete my data" and everything about you is permanently erased, only a tiny "this account was deleted" marker remains. Say "stop contacting me" and we stop. Consent can always be withdrawn. If you have reported another member's behavior, that internal safety record may be kept to protect the community.
